Why use 80/20 Extruded Aluminum Bars?

Note: Make sure there is limited light within the room when scanning. For more information on how to set up your 3D scanning environment, please visit our blog post on 3D Scanning in Everyday Environments.

Setting Up Your Own Scanner

When setting up your custom scanner, the ratio of the distance between the cameras to the distance from the scanner to the object should be 1:2. For example, if your cameras are 200mm apart, then the distance from your scanner to the object should be around 400mm. If scanning smaller objects, position the cameras closer together. To improve triangulation and accuracy, you must provide the correct distance between your projector and camera(s).

For a duo scanner, you must also provide the correct distance between your cameras. The cameras should be positioned equally between the projector.
